The GNM or General Nursing and Midwifery are of 3 and half years and offer a Diploma in paramedics. The ANM, on the other hand, is only 18 months course in most of the institutes and offers a Diploma in nursing. The eligibility for both the courses is 10+2 passing with 45% to 50 % marks.
The entrance exams for GNM are IGNOU OPENNET, JIPMER Nursing Entrance Exam, and BHU Nursing Entrance Exam. There is a 6-month internship included in the course. Successful completion of the courses can lead a candidate to enter the job market as a legal nurse consultant, clinical nurse specialist, forensic nursing, mid-wife nurse, etc.
