Pharmacists or chemists are the ones who practice in pharmacy, chemical science in the field of health. To enter the field of pharmacy or to become a licensed chemist, one needs either a degree in pharmacy or at least a diploma.
B. Pharma or Bachelor of Pharmacy is a graduation level course. The course is of 4 years duration. To earn a Bachelors's degree in this program, one needs to complete the course. A candidate must complete his or her 10+2 exam with science subjects like Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics or Biology. However, the eligibility criteria for admission vary from one institute to another. There are entrance examinations for admission to B. Pharma.
To get admitted to the D. Pharma course or Diploma in Pharmacy, the candidate must complete 10+2 exam. Science students with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Mathematics as the subjects are eligible to apply for the course program. The course is of 2 years duration. After completing the diploma course from PCI approved institute, a candidate can get admission to the 2nd year of B. Pharma. Different entrance tests like GPAT, UPSEE, etc. are conducted for admission to this course.
